History
Until 1835, when the Spanish land grant known as Los Meganos was deeded to Don Noriega, and later purchased by Dr. John Marsh, Native Americans roamed this hilly part of Northern California.  If you had immigrated with the first settlers in 1841, you would have been a farmer, producing grains, fruits, nuts and apricots.  The California Delta was a rich agricultural center in the early years, advancing a tide of settlement that included the incorporation of Contra Costa County in 1850, and Brentwood in 1948.  (…Read More About the History of Brentwood>)
